Nutcracker Mice

I took this idea from Roxi May. She made them for a Christmas in Wisconsin and I thought they were darling and delicious! I made them in December for a party and they were a hit. Ali asked if I would post them here also.

Here's what you need:

Maraschino cherries WITH stems

Hershey Kisses

Almond slivers

Baker's dipping chocolate (baking aisle) or if you want to use the longer method

Candy BBs or icing for eyes

Dip cherries in chocolate and place on wax paper. Prop a Kiss up against the cherry and position the ears with the almond slivers. Dab on the eyes and place in frig to cool; for serving, remove from wax paper and display.

Those are so cute!. While I am not a fan of real mice, I am a fan of chocolate and those are darling. I'll have to think of a good excuse to make them someday!

I've never been able to make any baked goods resemble real life characters or animals. I'm just not good at it! Nice work!
